Daniel Suarez says he ‘lost a lot of respect’ for Ross Chastain

Daniel Suarez and Ross Chastain are at odds following the NASCAR Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. After the race in Las Vegas, the two drivers got into a physical altercation on pit road, exchanging words and shoves. Chastain wasn’t happy with Suarez and vice versa.

After the event, Suarez posted a weekly video on YouTube and discussed the feud with Chastain. The Spire Motorsports driver didn’t hold back on his former Trackhouse Racing teammate.

“What happens on the track, happens on the track,” Suarez said. “That’s racing, right? Everybody goes into a race with another driver from time to time… that’s part of it. I was actually very frustrated and disappointed with what happened afterwards. I know [Ross Chastain] I’ve always known for a long time that he and I were very different. We are very different people. It doesn’t matter, I will always respect him. But what he said after the game was completely unacceptable. That’s the chicken thing. This is not good. “

“I’ve lost a lot of respect for him as a person because it’s not a good look. It’s not a good look on him and I don’t think it’s a good look on a guy like him. It’s kind of sad, to be honest. I really wanted to — I wanted to fight, but what would I gain? There’s nothing good to be gained by doing that. He’s not the type of guy I really want to fight. But, yeah, just disappointed.”

It’s unclear what Chastain said to Suarez in the pits, but the latter expressed disgust at the comments. Suarez used to drive for Trackhouse Racing, but he and Chastain have feuded in the past. Now that Suarez and Chastain play for different teams, it remains to be seen how they compete with each other moving forward.
