Dan Campbell likes the Detroit Lions’ latest draft pick.
“I like the way he plays,” the Lions coach said Thursday night on Fox 2 Sports about Clemson offensive tackle Blake Miller, whom Detroit selected with the No. 17 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

“He has a way of preparing, a way of training, all those things. But really, you just turn on the tape,” Campbell said. “This guy is a physical finisher, man. That’s what he does. And he’s versatile and can obviously pass the pro game and the run game, so we feel like he’s a great fit for us.”
Miller set the Clemson record for most consecutive starts by a non-professional with 54. Campbell said he enjoyed Miller’s experience.
“Man, he plays a lot of football. He’s solid, he’s consistent, he can do it all,” Campbell said. “He’s physical in the run game. Very smart. Tough, exciting, he has length and moves well. We feel like he’s a guy that can come in and compete and help us on the O-line side.”
Campbell confirmed the plan is likely to move All-Pro tackle Pene Sewell to the left side.

“I think that’s what they’re thinking,” said Campbell, who previously said at the NFL’s annual conference meeting that he wanted to move Sewell to the left side.
He also said he informed Miller that he would have to beat out veteran Larry Borom, who signed a one-year, $5 million contract with Detroit last offseason, for the starting job.
“I talked to Pene and this is what I want to do, and of course, that helps. Blake made a good tackle, and so did Borom. Like I told Blake, ‘Yeah, we’re making this move. But you’ve got to come out here and earn it, man.’ He’s got to earn this.”
