Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 is out now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X, adding multiple new customization options for player characters and vehicles, an overhauled photo mode, and more Johnny Silverhand! Developer CD Projekt Red started rolling out the latest update on Tuesday, more than a year after the release of Update 2.1 and a full four years after the game’s release. CD Projekt detailed patch 2.2 during a live broadcast, saying the idea behind the latest update is to give players a way to express themselves more in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.

“Cyberpunk 2077” update 2.2 features

Starting with Player Character V, players now have even more ways to customize their gaming experience. The patch adds over 100 new character customization options that can be accessed in the character creation menu at the start of the game or later when the player chooses to edit V’s appearance. These include new eye colors, makeup types, tattoos, online makeup, and more.

There are even more new ways to customize the appearance of your vehicle in Cyberpunk 2077. The in-game CrystalCoat technology, which allows players to edit the paint jobs of Rayfield cars, has been expanded to other selected vehicle brands in the game. Players can now also scan a car and pay to save its color scheme to choose from later when customizing the vehicle. Additionally, CD Projekt said in the patch notes for Update 2.2 that the 10 most popular vehicles on the streets of Night City are now available for purchase on Autofixer.

The patch also adds new interactions with Johnny Silverhand, the game’s main non-player character. Silverhand, played by Keanu Reeves, now sometimes appears in the passenger seat of the V-car, commenting on the driving and reacting to what’s going on.

The game’s photo mode has also received extensive changes, bringing new camera controls, aspect ratio adjustments on PC, NPC additions, and more. Users can also display their framed photo mode photos in V’s apartment. CD Projekt also says that Night City now has more secrets to discover.

In addition to new features, Update 2.2 also fixes bugs and improves mission design and gameplay. Some fixes are specific to the Phantom Liberty expansion pack.

The latest patch follows Update 2.1 which adds a fully functional subway system, a radio port for listening to in-game radio stations on the go, party events with romantic partners, and new vehicles and activities.
