Cranberry restaurant considered ‘out of compliance’ after inspection

A Cranberry restaurant was found to be “out of compliance” during a recent inspection.

On March 4, the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture conducted its regular annual inspection of the Juniper Grill restaurant. A report issued after the inspection noted that five violations were found.

According to the report, two of the violations found are believed to be repeat issues: food debris on the slicer blade guard and accumulation of dirt, grease and debris on non-food contact surfaces.

Other violations found include employees not wearing appropriate hair accessories on the cooking line, plastic utensils used for cooking deformed from the heat and missing or damaged floor grout between tiles.

Violations should be corrected by March 10, but the floors may need to be repaired over time, the report said.

Juniper Grill’s license cannot be renewed until it is again in compliance, and the facility may face inspection fees if a second or third follow-up inspection is required to achieve compliance.

It’s unclear when the restaurant will be re-inspected.
