Cowboys running back Javonte Williams has been ruled out for Sunday’s regular-season finale due to shoulder and neck injuries. The Cowboys have placed him on injured reserve, officially clearing his roster spot.

In other moves, the Cowboys also placed running back Malik Davis and linebacker T.J. Bass on IR. Cornerback Josh Butler and running back Phil Maffa were activated from injured reserve.

Additionally, linebacker Justin Barron was signed from the practice squad and offensive lineman Nick Leverett was promoted from the practice squad.

Williams, the Broncos’ 2021 second-round pick, signed a one-year, $3 million contract in the 2025 offseason. In 16 games, he rushed for 1,201 yards, a career high, and scored 11 touchdowns. He had 137 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

He will become a free agent again in March.

The absence of Williams and Davis leaves Jaden Blue as the likely starter for the Giants in Week 18. The 2025 fifth-round pick had 45 offensive snaps and 22 carries for 65 yards in four regular-season games.
