CovCath, Cooper headline NKY teams in latest statewide media poll

The 2026 Kentucky High School Basketball Media Poll, the second of the season, shows little change in the No. 1 boys poll after Louisville St. Xavier won its third straight Louisville Invitational.

This week, the Bishop Brossart Lady ‘Stangs made the list for the first time this season as the Northern Kentucky team accounted for 38 percent of the girls’ vote.

Each week, 16 media members from across the state will vote for the state’s top team, while also listing the top five men’s and women’s teams in their designated region. The Inquirer represents the 8th and 9th regions. The ballot was compiled by Jason Frakes of the Louisville Courier-Journal.

The full poll is below. First-place votes in parentheses, local teams in bold.
