ESPN’s Stephen Holder breaks it down in a new article on Tuesday. This is a confusing one for Colts fans because the coin essentially has two sides, and it’s unclear which side will land face up.

“Calling this (extension) a certainty wouldn’t be accurate, as Pierce leads the NFL in yards per catch (20.1) and could draw strong interest as an unrestricted free agent this spring,” Holder wrote. “But he loves playing for Indianapolis and has developed a great relationship with quarterback Daniel Jones, who is expected to re-sign despite tearing his Achilles tendon last week. Pierce has shown tremendous improvement this season, with the range of his game extending well beyond the deep routes he’s known for. However, with the high prices on recent receiver trades, determining his value will be a challenge.”
