KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Desiree Wooten scored 21 points and Zyanna Walker added 19 as Colorado beat No. 20 Baylor 62-53 in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Conference Tournament on Friday night.
Sixth-seeded Colorado will face second-seeded West Virginia, ranked 15th, in Saturday’s semifinals. After the Wildcats defeated fourth-seeded Oklahoma State 74-73 in the first quarterfinal game of the day, No. 1 seed TCU faced No. 12 seed Kansas State in the other semifinal.

Wooten, who came off the bench, hit 8 of 16 shots and three 3-pointers to help Buffalo (22-10) advance to the conference semifinals for the first time in 11 years. She added five rebounds and three assists. Substitute Login Grier had 9 points and 4 rebounds.
Talia Scott scored 14 points to lead the third-seeded Lady Bears (24-8). Dariana Littlepage-Buggs had 10 points and 10 rebounds, and substitute Kayla Abraham had 10 points and six rebounds.
Tabitha Bateson and Wooten hit consecutive three-pointers, starting a 10-0 climax. Wooten then hit a three-pointer, and the Buffaloes led 20-10 after one quarter.
With six minutes left in the second quarter, Walker connected from beyond the three-point line to give Colorado its largest lead at 31-14 and led 37-25 at halftime.

Walker scored 7 points and Colorado maintained a double-digit lead in the third quarter, leading 54-40. Buffalo never allowed Baylor to miss on two possessions down the stretch.
Colorado has won two straight and seven of nine games before falling to then-No. 1 Colorado 56-52 on the road. 16 Baylor, January 8. The Lady Bears have lost two straight and four of seven games.
