Colorado QB Isaac Wilson reveals his unique feat against Travis Hunter

Colorado added quarterback Isaac Wilson out of Utah this offseason, and Wilson served as a reminder this week that he’s done something that few have done heading into the 2024 season.

That was the touchdown pass to Heisman Trophy winner and former Colorado star Travis Hunter.

“I see Buffalo in 2024,” Wilson said, reflecting on the game. “I threw so many touchdowns and so many interceptions … but I was the only kid who threw a touchdown to Travis Hunter.”

In November 2024, Wilson’s Utes faced Hunter’s Buffaloes, with Colorado beating Utah State 49-24, largely due to Wilson’s three interceptions. Despite a rough day, Wilson threw a nice 40-yard touchdown pass to Dorian Singer, beating Hunter deep down the left sideline. The pass seemed meaningless, but it was Hunter’s only touchdown all season. The throw itself showcased Wilson’s talent.

Wilson, who now plays for Colorado State and is the brother of NFL quarterback and former No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson, is a top choice to back up redshirt freshman Julian Lewis during summer camp later this year. He spent two seasons with the Utes, catching 127 passes for 1,510 yards, 10 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. The former four-star recruit has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
