CNN Medical Expert Makes Startling Observation About Trump

CNN medical analyst Jonathan Reiner is calling for a congressional investigation into Donald Trump’s “fitness” to serve as president following his ongoing attempts to occupy Greenland.

Reiner, who served as cardiologist to the late Vice President Dick Cheney, shared his thoughts on X on Monday (January 19) about Trump’s letter to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gall Storr. In the letter, the president appeared to link his threat to acquire Greenland to his failure to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

“In light of your country’s decision not to award me the Nobel Peace Prize for stopping eight wars, I no longer feel obligated to think purely about peace, although it will always reign supreme, but now to consider what is good and right for the United States of America,” Trump wrote in the letter, which he also asked to be distributed to other European countries.

“This letter, and the fact that the President directed its distribution to other European countries, should trigger a bipartisan congressional investigation into the President’s fitness,” Reiner wrote in the post.

Lehner’s comments came days after he said Trump needed to be evaluated and that a recent Oval Office meeting appeared to show the president falling asleep while surrounded by officials and guests.

“The president appears to be struggling with excessive daytime sleepiness,” Reiner wrote, referring to narcolepsy, a condition that makes people feel extremely sleepy during the day. “Repeatedly falling asleep with a dozen people surrounding your desk is not normal. It needs to be evaluated.”

Reiner has spoken frequently in recent months about his concerns about Trump’s health. Last month, the medical expert spoke with CNN’s Jake Tapper about Trump’s Dec. 17 White House address, saying Trump spoke “at a manic pace, almost a frantic pace…and that manic speech was very, very disturbing.”

He also addressed Trump’s apparent drowsiness, adding, “It’s shocking to see the president go from essentially falling asleep in the Oval Office to delivering essentially a 30-minute speech in 18 minutes, actually at such a rapid pace.”

Earlier this month, Reiner responded to Trump’s comments about his high-dose aspirin regimen, calling it “nonsense” and medically unnecessary.
