Former Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw revealed his thoughts on the Dodgers’ trip to the White House this year.
Kershaw traveled to the White House with the team after winning the World Series in 2020 and 2024, and said this year won’t be any different.

“I went when President Biden was in office. I’m going when President Trump is in office,” Kershaw said. “For me, it’s just an opportunity to go to the White House. You don’t get that opportunity every day, so I’m happy to go.”
The Dodgers have been criticized since their decision to move to the White House, with fans divided by a polarizing political climate. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts insisted the Dodgers’ trip was purely traditional and defended the decision when asked about it at Dodger Day.
“I was raised by a man who served our country for 30 years and who grew up respecting the highest office in our country. It doesn’t matter to me who holds this position, I’m going to the White House. I’ve never tried to get involved in politics,” Roberts told reporters. Los Angeles Times” Bill Shekin. “For me, I’m going to continue to try to do what tradition says and not try to make a political statement because I’m not a politician. “

When will the Dodgers visit the White House?
While the Dodgers do plan to visit, they won’t be heading to the Oval Office during their early-season road trip against the Washington Nationals, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports. The Dodgers will play in Washington, D.C. April 3-5.

Plunkett also provided some insight into when the Dodgers will hit the road.
“A side trip to Washington, D.C., before the July 17-19 series at Yankee Stadium will shorten the All-Star break for Dodgers players by one day — a sacrifice that many are unlikely to recognize,” Plunkett wrote. “After playing three games in Philadelphia, however, the Dodgers have one day off before returning to New York for a three-game series with the Mets.
“That day off (July 23) is probably the day with the least disruption and therefore the best chance of arranging a return to the White House.”
