The Citroen C3 Aircross is the latest compact urban SUV to be launched in India and faces stiff competition from several brands including Kia, Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki and Toyota in the segment. The new car, which is much larger than the sub-40 lakh Citroen C3, is expected to go on sale in the next few weeks and is likely to be priced between Rs 100 and Rs 100. 9,00,000 Rs. 15,00,000 (ex-showroom) in India. Notably, the car allows you to choose a 5- or 7-seat configuration on later versions, prioritizing boot space over extra seating capacity and vice versa.
Citroen C3 Aircross expected price in India
Although the pricing is yet to be announced, the Citroen C3 Aircross is likely to be priced between Rs 100 and Rs 100. 9,00,000 Rs. 15,00,000 in India (ex-showroom pricing), depending on the model you choose. Currently, the car is offered with only one engine option – a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine rated at 109 hp and 190 Nm of torque. Additionally, there may not be any automatic transmission variants initially sold, with only a manual gearbox option available at launch.
Citroën C3 Aircross Specs and Features
All Citroen C3 Aircross variants are powered by a single 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. This will put it a bit behind compared to the Kia Seltos (2023) which is available in petrol, diesel and turbo petrol options. It’s worth noting that the turbo petrol on the Seltos has higher power and torque ratings than the Citroen C3 Aircross.
Additionally, the lack of an automatic transmission option on the Citroen C3 Aircross may also be a key factor in the purchasing decision. However, Citroën hopes to remedy these shortcomings, as the car is available in either a 5- or 7-seat configuration, allowing you to prioritize boot space of up to 513 liters, or additional seating capacity for two passengers, depending on your choice.
The car’s rated ground clearance is 200mm, highlighting its urban SUV positioning. You can also opt for a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as up to five USB ports for fast charging.
Currently, there is no information about the Citroen C3 Aircross, but the new compact SUV is the French car brand Citroen’s fourth model in India and is expected to go on sale soon. Sources say the car may also be launched as an electric version in the coming months, as well as a variant with an automatic transmission.
