Week 17 of the 2025 NFL season kicks off today with a Christmas Day three-game set, with the first game airing on Netflix at 1 pm ET as the Dallas Cowboys take on the Washington Commanders.
The Commanders were just counting down the days to the end of the season, only to lose to the Eagles 29-18 on Saturday. They at least got running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. to perform well again, and it looks like he’ll be holding down the fort in the backfield for the rest of the game.

Below, we’ll review Rodriguez’s outlook for Week 17 fantasy football.
Fantasy Football Analysis: Command RB Chris Rodriguez Jr.
Rodriguez continued to dominate the Commander’s backfield in last Saturday’s loss to the Eagles, making the score even more impressive with 15 carries for 63 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown. He continues to carry the lion’s share of the workload since they said goodbye last month, and Saturday’s loss was the first time this season that he’s been on the field for more than 50 percent of the snaps.
Start at week 17 or let it sit?
start. Whether Marcus Mariota or Josh Johnson starts at quarterback for the Commanders today, I still expect Rodriguez to get plenty of playing time in the holiday matchup. With nothing much to play with, he may end up being the primary offensive weapon and will likely get a ton of carries in this one. start him
