RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — The Carolina Hurricanes beat the Anaheim Ducks 5-2 on Thursday night, as Jalen Chatfield scored his first goal of the season to set up the game-winner and goaltender Frederik Andersen snapped a nine-game losing streak.
Chatfield, a defender playing in his 300th career game, scored in the Hurricanes’ three-goal run in the second period. He also had an assist.

Logan Stankoven and Taylor Hall each had a goal and an assist, while Mark Jankowski and Jackson Black also made it three straight wins for the Hurricanes. Anderson made 11 saves in his first win since Nov. 6. During his winless streak, his record stood at 0 wins, 7 draws and 2 losses.
Ryan Poehling and Mikael Granlund scored for the Ducks, who have lost eight straight (0-7-1). Ville Husso stopped 30 shots.
The Ducks took the lead in each of the first two quarters.
Perlin scored with 6 minutes and 42 seconds left in the first quarter. At 8:56 of the second period, Jankowski tied the score with Carolina’s 17th shot, a puck swept in by Anaheim defenseman Drew Helleson.

Granlund missed a shot in the open goal but stayed almost in the same position before catching a pass from Mason McTavish to give the Ducks a 2-1 lead with 6:42 left in the second period. Stankoven scored for his third consecutive game, catching a pass from Taylor Hall and a two-man charge put the Hurricanes within one.
Chatfield scored with 3:52 left in the second period. Carolina outscored the Ducks 18-3 in this quarter.
Blake and Hall scored in the third period, with Hall’s goal hitting an empty net.
Winger Troy Terry, who tied for the Ducks’ scoring lead with 42 points, missed the game for the first time this season due to an upper-body injury.
