The Los Angeles Chargers have been plagued by injuries this season, but now they’re about to get one of their greatest players back.
The Chargers officially activated rookie running back Omarion Hampton from injured reserve on Monday. Hampton, a 2025 first-round draft pick by the Chargers, has not played since an ankle injury in Week 5. He was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 7 and opened a 21-day practice window two weeks ago.

Hampton is expected to play against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Hampton was the 22nd overall draft pick out of North Carolina last April. In the five games he has played, he has rushed for 314 yards and two touchdowns at a rate of 4.8 yards per attempt.
The Chargers have lost two tackles this season, Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt, as well as a slew of other injuries, but currently sit in sixth place in the AFC playoffs with an 8-4 record, although they need a win tonight to have any hope of catching the Denver Broncos in the AFC West race.
