Chargers-Eagles Injury Report: Justin Herbert questionable for Monday Night Football

Saturday (final) update: The Chargers have dropped their final injury report for Week 14, with quarterback Justin Herbert (left hand) and running back Omarion Hampton (ankle) both listed as doubtful for Monday night’s game against the Eagles. Jim Harbaugh is optimistic that Herbert can play normally this week, as is Hampton. The latter has also been officially activated via IR, so it looks like the team’s star rookie is firing on all cylinders.

Other players who will carry the questionable tag Monday night include running back Hassan Haskins and defensive tackle Otito Ogbonya. Tight end/linebacker Tucker Fisk was the only player ruled out after not participating in Monday Night Football’s practice.

Friday update: The Chargers’ injury report for Friday is out, and it’s much cleaner than Thursday’s roster. This time, only two of the 10 players did not fully participate in training. Justin Herbert (hand) was limited for the second straight day, and tight end/linebacker Tucker Fisk (ankle) was also a DNP again.

In a relief to Chargers fans, quarterback Justin Herbert practiced on a limited basis Thursday, three days after surgery to repair a fracture in his non-throwing hand. Herbert told reporters earlier this week that a plate and several screws were inserted into his hand, and although the injury sounded serious, he was still prepared not to miss any playing time.

As for preliminary injury reports for the rest of the team, nine additional players have been designated for Thursday’s practice.

Pass rusher Bud Dupree (veteran rest day), tight end/linebacker Tucker Fisk (ankle) and defensive tackle Da’Shawn Hand (illness) are all out to begin the Eagles’ preparations.

Running backs Omarion Hampton (ankle) and Hassan Haskins (hamstring), wide receiver Quentin Johnston (shoulder) and offensive linemen Trey Pipkins (back) and Jamari Salier (shoulder) were all limited. All reports expect Hampton to return to action this week after missing the past seven games with a broken ankle.
