Chargers amongst top teams in 2026 projected win totals

In the media world, sportsbooks are dropping projected win totals for all 32 NFL teams in 2026, and while it’s too early to take these seriously, it will be interesting to see how people view the league’s landscape at this point in the offseason.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, they have opened nine teams and are projected to win 10.5 games in 2026, the highest win total of any team. The Chargers are tied with the Kansas City Chiefs for the highest score in the AFC West. The other eight teams with the same prediction are the 49ers, Seahawks, Rams, Bills, Eagles, Packers, Lions and Ravens.

After back-to-back 11-game seasons, that appears to be the expectation again for the Chargers in 2026. After finishing second in the division, they’ll face a pretty tough schedule that includes games against the Ravens, Buccaneers, and Texans. When it comes to projections for the Chiefs rebounding from a down year that ranks them third in the division (with an easier schedule in 2026), the obvious bounce-back potential of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and the entire Andy Reid-led offense has sportsbooks believing they’ll be right back in the game.

As for more context on the Chargers, they may be anticipating a change in the team’s overall performance. The defense appears to be taking a hit with Jesse Minter transferring to the Ravens, but expectations are higher for the offense to bounce back now under Mike McDaniel. That’s a fairly simple description of the biggest changes to the team, but I don’t think it needs to be much more complicated than that.
