Thierry Henry spoke on Monday Night Football last night about Liam Rogniol, the new Chelsea manager’s first league win in his first game in charge.
Henry recalled Roniol’s experience as Strasbourg coach and his impressions of the young coach during his time in France.

Henry impresses in Ligue 1 and becomes a fan of ‘character’ Ronnie Ort
Wesley Fofana stalks the field.
“He’s doing really well,” Henry said. “He’s in the Champions League again. He disturbed a lot of teams, like Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes. Tactically, his teams are very sound. High pressure, possession of the ball, trying to create a young team, full of intensity, the way they play.”
“He’s not shy about speaking his mind, he’s got a great personality and I hope we see more of that.”
We all know by now that being called a “character” in English is, at best, a backhanded compliment. But there’s no denying that Ronnie Orr does have a funny way and his old quotes have been dug up and laughed at.

But “characters” can also be hugely successful in football. The game is full of them. You just need the results to back up your quirks…

Jamie Carragher was also on Sky Sports last night and he had some interesting thoughts on the early innovations we’ve seen from Chelsea boss Liam Roniol, describing them as unique.
Carragher also had his own criticisms, although they tended to focus on the project as a whole rather than Ronnie Orr. The expert pointed out that simply buying young players has proven to be a failed strategy.
