Central Mass. spa owner, manager charged with keeping a house of prostitution

The owner and manager of a Westboro spa were arrested Tuesday on charges of operating a brothel, according to police.

Westborough Wellness Spa owner Michael Langille and manager Leir Guo each pleaded not guilty to operating a place of prostitution, procuring others for prostitution and receiving support from prostitution during their arraignment in Westborough District Court on Tuesday, according to court records.

Two people were arrested after officers served a search warrant at the East Main Street store, Westboro police said in a news release. Both Rangel and Guo are wanted on outstanding arrest warrants related to the Westborough Wellness Spa investigation.

During the arraignment, a judge ordered Rangel to be held on $25,000 cash bail and Guo on $20,000 cash bail, according to court records. Both men were ordered to surrender their passports upon release, but as of Tuesday, neither was being held without bail.

Westboro police said the Department of Homeland Security, Massachusetts State Police and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation.

Westborough Police ask anyone with information related to the investigation to call them at 508-475-4250. The investigation is ongoing and police plan to share more details in the future.
