Kalidou Koulibaly and his teammates have not lost a CAN game since losing to Algeria in the 2019 final. In the next three games – 2021, 2023 and 2025 – they have gone 16 games unbeaten.

In this campaign, Senegal achieved a record of 12 wins and 4 draws. Even the dramatic penalty shootout loss to Côte d’Ivoire (1-1 on penalties, 5-4 on penalties) in the round of 16 of the 34th World Cup was statistically considered a draw.

This remarkable feat eclipses the 14-game unbeaten streak set between 2002 and 2004 (five wins and four draws).

It is worth noting that the historical record belongs to the Egyptian team, who were undefeated in 25 consecutive CAN games between 2004 and 2017.

Papu Thiao’s side will hope to extend their winning streak in the semi-finals, awaiting the winner between Ivory Coast and Egypt.
