Cameron Boozer reveals main focus after ACC Tournament MVP

The Duke Blue Devils defeated the Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday night to win their second straight ACC championship. Sophomore guard Isaiah Evans led the way with a game-high 20 points on 4-of-8 three-point shooting.

Caden Boozer also had a strong performance, scoring 16 points, tying his career high set a day earlier against Clemson.

Although Cameron Boozer was named the ACC Player of the Year, he struggled against Virginia, missing 14 shots and going 3-for-17 for the game.

Despite his missed shot, the National Player of the Year found other ways to impact the game. Boozer grabbed eight rebounds and dished out eight assists for 13 points, including two free throws with 3 seconds left that tied the game.

After the game, Boozer was named the ACC Tournament MVP, averaging 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in three games.

Speaking to the media after the victory, Boozer revealed how he would like to be remembered.

I always wanted to be called a winner. To be able to get out of here is to find a way to win. It was a great team effort. (…) Virginia is a great team and it’s hard to beat a great team twice. So proud of my guys. We worked really hard to get here to have a chance to play in the championship game and win it, so it was a great team win.

Now, with the ACC title in hand, Boozer and the Blue Devils will turn their attention to the national title. If Duke can overcome the odds, this will be their first NCAA title in more than a decade since defeating Wisconsin in 2015.
