Activision Blizzard has confirmed that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will be shutting down in April. The mobile game was launched in 2024 and its servers will go offline on April 17, 2026, after which it will no longer be playable. Last year, Activision Blizzard said Battlefield Mobile failed to meet its expectations and the game was removed from mobile app stores.
war zone mobile phone shut down
Activision updated on its website this week that it will shut down the mobile servers for Call of Duty: Warzone on April 17, 2026, marking the end of the road for the mobile battle royale game. Until then, players who already have Warzone Mobile installed on their devices will be able to access the game and continue to use previously purchased in-game content.
Activision also confirmed that it will not refund any unused COD points (in-game currency) and previously purchased in-game content, and players are advised to redeem their points for available in-game content before April 17. Since the app was removed from the mobile storefront in May 2025, purchases requiring real money are no longer available in Warzone Mobile.
“We’re extremely grateful to the community that supports Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile and the developers who make the experience a reality,” said Activision. “Player passion and feedback will continue to shape the future of the Call of Duty franchise, and we look forward to delivering meaningful seasonal content and updates to Call of Duty: Mobile.”
Warzone mobile version falls short of expectations
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile launches on iOS and Android platforms on March 21, 2024, offering a battle royale experience on two popular COD maps: Verdansk and Rebirth Island.
However, the free-to-play mobile game has struggled to find the same appeal as its PC and console twins. In May 2025, Activision announced that it would remove the app from the Play Store and App Store and cease all future seasonal content and game updates.
Activision said at the time: “This decision was made after careful consideration of a variety of factors, and while we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished in bringing Call of Duty: Warzone to mobile devices in an authentic way, unfortunately it doesn’t live up to our expectations for mobile-first players just like it does for PC and console players.”
Warzone Mobile was removed from the App Store on May 19, 2025. Activision continues to offer Call of Duty: Mobile, which includes multiplayer modes, Battle Royale, and Zombies modes.
