San Francisco, California, March 10— Archbishop Riordan [San Francisco, CA] Crusader and Salesian College Prep. [Richmond, CA] Breaking into The Sporting News high school boys basketball top 25 for the first time this week.

But one of them is guaranteed to lose in their first game on this roster.
That’s because the No. 20 Crusaders and No. 21 Pride will face off Tuesday night in the California CIF Open Division to determine the Northern California regional champion, with the winner advancing to the state championship game to face the other semifinal winner.
The game will be played simultaneously between sixth-ranked Sierra Canyon [Chatsworth, CA] Trail Blazers and No. 22 Harvard-Westlake [Studio City, CA] Wolverine.
Both games can be streamed live on the NFHS Network, and both are set for tip-off at 10 PM ET (7 PM PST).

Riordan’s basket made it 38-23, the Crusaders’ largest lead of the game, leading to a Salesian timeout. It’s not looking good for the Pride right now.

In the second half of the game, neither side scored at about 2 minutes and 15 seconds, but Riordan finally broke the deadlock by making two free throws. The score was 36-23, with Riordan still in the lead.
