The Cleveland Browns lost a depth player in their linebacker room. This is no unexpected loss for Cleveland, however, as Mohamed Diabate has signed with the Tennessee Titans as an NFL free agent.
This isn’t a surprising move for the Browns, as Diabate is a restricted free agent and Cleveland chose not to offer him a contract. The Browns did elect to add some other restricted free agents, such as starting safety Ronny Hickman Jr., but Diabate was not among them.

Financial details of his contract with the Titans have not been disclosed.
A look back at Diabate’s time with the Browns
The Browns signed Diabate as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 NFL Draft. Although Diabate was an undrafted free agent, he worked his way onto the final 53-man roster and never lost that spot in his three seasons with the team.
Diabate has started a total of 11 games for the Browns over the past two seasons. He started six games a year ago and 11 games the year before that. He’s long and athletic, which at least has been flashes for the former Florida State and Utah linebacker, so he could make a difference at Tennessee.
