DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Brad Keselowski has been cleared to compete in the Daytona 500, nearly two months after fracturing his right leg.
Keselowski, who was injured after slipping on ice during a family ski vacation, passed his driving test at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Monday and was officially cleared to drive RFK Racing’s No. 6 Ford.

“It took a lot of work to get here!” Keselowski posted on X. “Special thanks to my family, six staff members, all the medical professionals and my fans for all your help and support.”
Keselowski underwent surgery in mid-December and had been confident he would be ready for the season-opening Daytona 500. Corey Lajoie filled in for last week’s exhibition Clash at Bowman Gray Arena in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Keselowski, the 2012 Cup champion, is winless in 16 starts in the Daytona 500. With 42 days left until the Great American Race, he will enter his 17th full season in NASCAR’s top level. He spent most of his career with Team Penske, but purchased a stake in Roush Fenway Racing in 2022 and became the owner/driver of the renamed team.
