The Denver Broncos are heading into the AFC Championship Game.
But their quarterback won’t be joining them.
Shortly after Bonix led the Broncos to an overtime victory over the Buffalo Bills, Broncos head coach Sean Payton announced at the postgame press conference that the quarterback would miss the AFC Championship Game after suffering a fractured right ankle in the penultimate overtime play.

The injury was a bitter pill for Nix, who completed the comeback in the final minutes to push the Broncos to the cusp of the AFC Championship Game. On Denver’s final drive of the regular season, Knicks went 6-for-7 from the field, including pitches like Courtland Sutton’s digging route:
The “second to last” play of the regular season might have been Denver’s game-winning field goal with the football.
