The 9-3 Chicago Bears have been one of the more surprising teams of the 2025-26 NFL season, winning nine of their last 10 games after an 0-2 start to jump atop the NFC North standings and become the division’s top seed.

They’ve already exceeded Vegas oddsmakers’ expectations this season, with a preseason win total of 8.5 a few weeks ago. After an impressive 24-15 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Black Friday, one bettor is looking more cautious with his big bet on the Bears.

Earlier this season, a bettor at BetMGM placed a $50,000 bet on the Bears at 66-1 odds to win Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara this February. The bet will win $3.3 million and is currently the largest Super Bowl futures bet by any legal sportsbook in the United States.

Oddsmakers aren’t too optimistic about the Bears’ prospects just yet, though.

The Bears’ current Super Bowl odds are 30-1 — seventh-best among teams in the league. Despite being first in the NFC North, the Green Bay Packers (-140) are the favorite to win the division at BetMGM. Kaleb Williams (No. 18 overall QBR) had a better sophomore season under new head coach Ben Johnson, but his chances of winning MVP remain slim at 60-1 odds.

The Los Angeles Rams (+450) are currently BetMGM’s Super Bowl favorite.

Chicago is in fifth place with the remaining schedule, so it will be interesting to see if the Bears can finish strong, win the division and host the playoffs. What works in their favor is that the Packers have the second-best SOS in the NFL.

Chicago has performed well for bettors all season long, going 8-4 in point differential and tied for second with the Seattle Seahawks (9-3).

The Bears are currently -325 to make the playoffs (76.5% implied probability), so this is the bettor’s first step towards cashing in.

This is a bet we’ll be keeping an eye on all season.
