Benjamin Sesko ready to make an impact whenever Carrick calls on him

Manchester United took all three points to beat Everton 1-0 at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday night.

It was United’s fifth win in six since Michael Carrick’s arrival and their unbeaten run currently leaves them fourth in the Premier League table, just three points behind Aston Villa.

The caretaker manager’s selections were largely spot on, but he did miss an opportunity by not starting the in-form Benjamin Cescó against the Toffees.

With the home side having tall defenders, Brian Mbemo had little fun with them. Carrick’s changes early in the second half ultimately proved to be the difference.

Super sub Benjamin Sesco comes to the rescue again

Less than 15 minutes after the Slovenian came on, United started their counterattack with a lovely pass from Matheus Cunha.

He has now scored six goals in his last seven games and it is becoming increasingly difficult for Carrick to ignore him.

Despite not starting a game under his new coach, the former RB Leipzig star doesn’t seem to mind, explaining sky sports As long as Carrick feels healthy, he’ll be ready to contribute.

“For me, every time I go out there and try to help the team, that’s important. That’s why I’m here. Whether it’s five minutes or 90 minutes, it doesn’t matter. It’s to prove that I can do it, and if I can, I’m very happy with that.”

His belief in himself is impressive

He is only 22 years old, and given his worth, there will inevitably be doubts in his mind, especially when the head coach didn’t select him in the first place.

But he didn’t let these thoughts affect him. He believed that he could turn the tide when he came on the court.

“I believe in me and the other players believe in me. They know what they’re going to get when I play. Of course, it depends on how I perform.”

Benjamin Sesko has shown maturity beyond his years both on and off the court.

Now, he will be looking to build on that success again when Crystal Palace come to Old Trafford next Sunday. Hopefully that day, he’ll have a chance to make an impact from the start.
