The Cincinnati Bengals haven’t been one of the best teams in the NFL this season, but considering Joe Burrow has missed most of the season, their 6-10 record isn’t as bad as it could be.

However, there are still some questions about the future of the team, specifically whether head coach Zac Taylor will return in 2026.
While Taylor is a hot name this season, a report from Dianna Russini of The Athletic revealed the support Taylor is receiving from Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, which could mean Taylor isn’t going anywhere.
Bengals’ Zac Taylor gets HC job update with help from Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, Ty Higgins
“Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has been supportive of coach Zac Taylor within the organization,” Russini reported, “as have receivers Jamal Chase and Ty Higgins.”

It’s an important update not only because of the support from the team’s top players that he’s not lost in the locker room, but also because of how invested the team is in Burrow’s opinion.
As Russini wrote, “Cincinnati’s owners have made it clear they value Burrow’s perspective, and they’ve listened in the past.”
If Bengals ownership is still willing to listen to Burrow as well as Chase and Higgins, the odds of Taylor leaving this offseason (unless there are completely hidden intentions behind the scenes) look incredibly low.

Taylor’s job appears to be safe this offseason as the Bengals hope for a better 2026 season as the defense starts to show improvement and the offense can stay healthy year-round.
However, it’s a question worth continuing to watch, as things could change in the coming weeks depending on how the season finale goes and if anything changes internally for Burrow and the Bengals’ stars.
For now, the Bengals appear to be sticking with Taylor as the team’s head coach through the 2026 season. The support of Burrow, Chase and Higgins for Taylor is a big reason why Taylor may keep his job.
