Mar. 2—SHAWnee, Kan. — The Bemidji State softball team faced a slate of traditional regional qualifiers at the Top Gun Midwestern College Classic in Shawnee, Kan., over the weekend.
The Beavers went 1-3, outscored Newman 10-3, but lost their last three games. BSU lost to Washburn 9-3, Missouri Western 7-0 and Central Missouri 6-1.

All four games were completed within seven innings. Bemidji State’s last two games against Emporia State and Fort Hays State were canceled due to weather.
Bemidji State (3-11) will compete in the Space Coast Spring Sports Conference in Melbourne, Fla., March 6-11 before beginning NSIC play on March 21 at home against Augustana.
