Javier Fernandez joins Nuremberg on loan

“Unfortunately, Javier Fernandez missed a significant amount of time in 2025 due to injury, but he is now 100% fit and ready for professional football,“FCB sporting director Christoph Freund stated in the club’s statement.”He is a very good footballer; a physical midfielder who leads every team he plays for. He’s the kind of guy who takes matters into his own hands. We look forward to spending the next few years with him and are sure he will gain many more valuable experiences at Nuremberg.“
“Javier is an exciting talent in his position,” added Joti Chatzialexiou, FCN Sports Board Member.”It is no coincidence that he has already had several opportunities to break into the first team and play for the Spanish U national team. We want to give him the chance to prove his skills in the Bundesliga for the first time in Nuremberg.“
“I’m looking forward to my time at FCN,“Fernandez himself added in the FCN statement.”I want to continue learning and adapting to the new level and intensity compared to the regional league.“
