Bayern Munich News: Talks open with Feyenoord right-back phenom Givairo Read

According to Christian Falk of Sport Bild, Bayern Munich has launched personal talks with Givaro Reed and hopes to bring him in next season. Additionally, the Bavarians hope Galatasaray will exercise their option to buy Bayern Munich loanee Sascha Boy to help fund the move:

Bayern Munich have opened talks with Feyenoord for Givaro Reed. The club wanted Galatasaray to exercise their option to buy Sasha Boy, so they replaced him with the Dutchman.

Red has been linked with Bayern Munich for several months, but it remains to be seen whether dealing with Red and Feyenoord will be easy. Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, FC Barcelona and Brighton & Hove Albion have also been linked with Reid.

Stuttgart defender Maximilian Mittelstadt is severely underrated, but he’s getting some attention from Napoli:

Napoli have made preliminary contact for Stuttgart left-back Maximilian Mittelstadt.

Mittelstadt should be one of the players selected for the Germany national team, but it is unclear whether Julian Nagelsmann is a big fan of the left-back.

Bayern Munich may actually be monitoring Brentford winger Kevin Shedd:

✅ It’s true: Bayern Munich is monitoring Kevin Shedd. However, it is not true that he is at the top of the shortlist. It’s a similar situation to Diomande in that he’s too expensive. I heard from the Brentford side that they will start poker with 70 million euros [£60.3m]. This is too much. Maybe they knew it was too much, and in the end, they couldn’t get him such money. There are a lot of rumors surrounding Brentford at the moment. In addition, forward Igor Thiago has also been linked to Bayern, but the club is not looking for such a player. But they are looking for a player like Shedd. Bayern Munich are monitoring his situation but signing him for such money would be too difficult. So, it’s good for Chelsea and good for Tottenham (I hear he’s on the list too). It will be interesting for Bayern as he is a German player who could play for the national team and maybe even the upcoming World Cup if he is lucky. But Bayern currently does not list him as its first target.

Bayern Munich are reportedly looking for a winger to back up Luis Dias, and Shad could be that guy…if the price is right.

Filip Kostic’s time at Juventus appears to be coming to an end:

Filippo #Kostic is set to leave #Juventus as a free agent at the end of the season. #Juventus will not extend his contract, which expires in June. #transfer

It’s unclear whether Bayern Munich will need a goalkeeper this summer, but if the Bavarians do, it likely won’t be Bart Verbruggen:

❌It’s not true: Bayern Munich has some lingering interest in Bart Verbruggen. In fact, Bayern are talking about the future because no one currently knows whether Neuer will sign a new contract. He turns 40 at the end of March, but the plan is clear: Jonas Urbig becomes No. 1. They also plan to give Sven Ulreich (37 years old) a new contract. This wasn’t clear before because he wasn’t considered a young player for a goalkeeper either. However, he will be needed!

Jonas Urbig was hit in the head after the game and suffered an unfortunate injury. He was taken to hospital and has now been immobile for eight to 10 days. However, Neuer is still injured, so Ulreich will shoot in the meantime. Bayern are considering offering him a one-year contract. Maybe if Manuel Neuer signed a contract, that would be it – so no Verbruggen. But the retired international has yet to sign a contract extension and if he ultimately doesn’t do so, Bayern are looking for an older, more experienced goalkeeper. But a goalkeeper like Bart Verbruggen won’t want to get the No. 1 spot for himself.

Manchester City star Bernardo Silva was sent off for putting his arm in front of Real Madrid’s shot during Wednesday’s 2-1 loss. This could be one of Silva’s last big moves in a Manchester City shirt, as he could leave the club this summer:

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva is expected to leave the club on a free transfer this summer, ending his nine-year spell at the Etihad, according to transfer reporter Matteo Moretto. Currently, the two parties have not yet negotiated a contract renewal. During Guardiola’s tenure as Manchester City coach, Silva has been the main force of the team, winning six Premier League titles and the Champions League.
