Barcelona are preparing for the crucial summer transfer window, which will see a raft of signings and exits. Marc Casado is one of the players linked with a move away from Spotify and he has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia in recent weeks.
Casado has been in poor form this season, which may be why he has been rarely called up by Hansi Flick. Frenkie de Jong and Pedri are ahead of him in the rankings, and soon, Gavi and Marc Bernal are also expected to become more prominent.

Despite this, Barcelona have made it clear that Casado remains trustworthy, which is why they decided to offer him a new contract. According to Sport, work is already underway on the 22-year-old midfielder’s contract, with the hope that an agreement can be reached before the end of the season.

Casado could consider leaving in the summer
For now, Casado is happy to stay at Barcelona, although he knows his playing time may be limited between now and the end of the season. If he loses much of his popularity before the summer, it’s worth noting that he will consider leaving.

If this does happen, many clubs will be wary. As well as Saudi Arabia, Casado has also attracted interest from Atletico Madrid and Manchester United, with the former trying to strike a deal with Barcelona last summer but ultimately failing to reach an agreement.
It will be interesting to see how Casado’s situation develops in the coming weeks and months. He would be Barcelona’s fifth midfield option, but given his transfer value it would be better to let him go if he does drop down the pecking order.
