Toyota is recalling about 55,000 vehicles due to powertrain problems that could cause fires.
The recall affects the 2025-2026 Toyota Camry and 2026 Corolla Cross Hybrid, the company announced in a statement.
The automaker said bolts within the powertrain inverter may become loose and could cause the vehicle to lose power or catch fire when starting, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
“All known owners of affected vehicles will be notified and will be contacted when further information on repair remedies is available,” Toyota said. “The remedies will be free of charge.
“We will notify customers of this issue by mid-February 2026.”
The company said owners can visit Toyota.com/recall or nhtsa.gov/recalls to find out if they are affected by this or previous recalls, or contact the Toyota Brand Engagement Center for customer support at 1-800-331-4331.
