The Hawkeyes had a chance to tie the game, but Mackenzie Hale blocked Tyler McCabe’s 3-pointer with 16 seconds left. Crooks then made a free throw to make it 73-69 and secure her fourth 30-point game of the season.
Chazadi Wright hit four 3-pointers and scored 21 points for the Hawkeyes (9-1). McCabe scored 11 points with three three-pointers, and Kelly Feuerbach and Hannah Sturke each scored 10 points.
Iowa State had no answer for Crooks and was nearly unstoppable when she caught the pass inside. Much of that came from Jada Williams, who dished out a career-high 12 assists and finished with 11 points and five rebounds.
Crooks scored in double figures for his 78th consecutive game, the longest such streak in the country.
