With just weeks left until FC Barcelona’s presidential election, candidates typically bring in big-name players to win support.
High-profile names such as Harry Kane and Julian Alvarez have been mentioned as potential big-name signings in recent weeks to excite voters and bolster the sport during the campaign.

Alvarez, in particular, is considered the Catalans’ top target to replace Robert Lewandowski this summer.
There were even signs of direct contact between Barcelona officials and the Atletico superstar’s entourage.

In interviews with the media before the game Rojiblancos During the Champions League match against Club Brugge at Riyadh’s Metropolitan Aviation Stadium, he made it clear that he had not been in contact with anyone at Barcelona regarding the Argentine striker.

“The interest is there for a lot of players but we have to live with that.” he said, according to The Athletic.
“Julian is an Atletico player. Atletico have very good players and many clubs are interested in them, but we have not spoken to anyone yet, neither pre-candidates nor candidates, not to Barcelona, not to anyone.”
Alvarez’s performances this season have yet to match his performance on his debut in Spain. However, he continues to enjoy widespread consensus at Barcelona that he is the ideal candidate to replace Lewandowski.
Any move for the 2022 World Cup winner will be difficult to materialise. Atletico signed him to a long-term contract until 2030 and have no intention of selling him unless there is a huge offer of around 200 million euros.
