Assassin’s Creed Phantoms is now available on Steam

Assassin’s Creed Phantoms will be released on Steam in October, Ubisoft confirmed in a post on X Saturday. “As we celebrate the first anniversary of release, we can’t wait to welcome more fans back to our roots experience set in ninth-century Baghdad,” the publisher said in the post. The game is now available for wishlisting on Steam.

The studio has been releasing its latest games on PC through its own store and the Epic Games Store, and delaying releases on Steam. However, with the launch of Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, Ubisoft will change this strategy. Last month, the company announced that it would delay the next Assassin’s Creed game, originally scheduled for release on November 15, 2024 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X, to February 14, 2025. Ubisoft also confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available on Steam on day one. “This game will mark our return to day one Steam releases for new releases,” the company said.

Ubisoft brought Assassin’s Creed Phantoms to iPhone and iPad devices earlier this year on June 6. The game can be downloaded and played on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad Air and iPad Pro with M1 chip or higher.

Last week, Bloomberg reported that shareholders Tencent and the Guillemot family, the founding family of Ubisoft, were considering options, including a possible acquisition of the French video game developer, as it lost more than half its market value in 2023.

On Monday, Ubisoft acknowledged the report and said it “regularly reviews all of its strategic options.”
