Assassin’s Creed Codename Red Is Now Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Set for Full Reveal on May 15

Assassin’s Creed: Code Red finally has an official title. The game was first released in September 2022 under the name Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. Ubisoft announced late Monday that Shadow will be fully revealed on May 15th. As previously confirmed, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows will be set in feudal Japan and is likely to be an open-world action RPG similar to 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. In addition to the game’s title, Ubisoft also revealed the Shadow’s logo.

In a press release, Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin’s Creed: Shadows will be the next entry in the AC series. Shadows (formerly known as Assassin’s Creed Red) will be fully revealed on the Ubisoft YouTube channel on May 15th at 5pm BST / 9am PT (9:30pm IST). The reveal will likely come with a trailer confirming more details about the game’s setting, protagonist, and possible release date or window.

Ubisoft also started a countdown on Assassin’s Creed social media channels, inviting players to solve hourglass puzzles and promising rewards. Assassin’s Creed: Shadows can now also be added to the Ubisoft Store wishlist.

While the publisher didn’t reveal further details about AC Shadows in its initial reveal, a data miner has detailed the upcoming game’s pricing and its planned post-launch content. X User @Ubisoft_Frax claims that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available for £59.99 (approximately Rs. 6,290) and the game’s season pass will be available for $40 (approximately Rs. 3,340). Additionally, Shadows will get two post-launch expansions, each priced at $25 (approximately Rs. 2,087), according to dataminer.

Last October, a female character from Assassin’s Creed Shadows, believed to be the main character, was leaked via the LinkedIn profile of a Ubisoft writer. Shadows is also said to be a return to the spirit of the vast open-world RPG seen in previous games in the Assassin’s Creed Phantoms series.

Ubisoft launched AC Mirage last October, promising a return to the series’ roots. The game abandons large maps and RPG design in favor of a cleaner, stealthier experience reminiscent of early Assassin’s Creed games.

In addition to Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, Ubisoft is also developing Assassin’s Creed Hexe, which is said to be “the darkest Assassin’s Creed game ever.” Codename Hexe is set during the decline of the Holy Roman Empire, specifically during the witch trials of the 16th century.
