Ismael Kabia returns from injury and Will Sweet plays his first game since his loan extension, but it wasn’t all good news from the players on loan from Arsenal on Saturday.

Arsenal loanee Ismail Kabia recently suffered an injury and was forced to miss games against Accrington Stanley and Salford City, ending a 32-game run for Shrewsbury Town.

The good news is that Kabbia returned to the squad for Saturday’s game against Walsall and came on as a second-half substitute in what was his 33rd appearance for Shrewsbury.
Unfortunately, Kabia came on with Walsall already leading 2-1 and Shrewsbury were reduced to 10 men after Josh Raffels’ red card. So, it’s not an ideal matchup for a comeback.
Nonetheless, things are looking pretty positive for the club at the moment. Kabbia joins a Shrewsbury side who are 23rd in League Two and in serious danger of back-to-back relegations after five games, but they are now 17th and 11 points clear of relegation with 11 games remaining.

In other good news for Saturday’s game, Will Sweet made his first appearance for Dagenham and Redbridge after extending his loan spell earlier in the day.
The centre-back started against Tottenham on Saturday, his third start since his first loan spell just over a month ago.
However, there was more disappointing news from elsewhere in the Arsenal loan group. Karl Hein did not feature for his 18th consecutive game at Werder Bremen, while Louis Copley missed the Crawley Town game with an ankle injury.

On top of that, there was no explanation as to why Reiss Nelson was not included in Brentford’s squad for their trip to Burnley.

Whether the reason for that is an injury setback or simply because he’s unpopular, either way, it’s bad news.
Nelson last played in the Premier League on January 7 and has been either an unused substitute or left out of the squad in the seven games since. He is yet to start a league game for Brentford.
