LSU has been busy in the transfer portal and it’s hard for me to keep up with all the new additions. The Tigers have added eight players to their portal since we last spoke, and they’re not done yet. Let’s take a quick look back at Lane Kiffin and company entering the transfer class.
January 8
The Tigers loaded up on both sides of the line of scrimmage Thursday. Defensively, LSU poached two players from the SEC, while the Tigers went deep into the lower divisions to add some offensive players.

Thursday’s race begins with increasing South Carolina advantage Jaylen brown. Brown began his college career at Missouri State before transferring to South Carolina. However, he never took the field for the Gamecocks as a knee injury caused him to miss the entire 2025 season. Now, he will follow new LSU defensive line coach Sterling Lucas to Baton Rouge.
Auburn defensive tackle Malik Brockton is the next addition. In two years with the Plains, Brockton appeared in 24 games, starting 10 of them. He’s had a great college career so far, finishing with 34 tackles, 8.5 TFL, and 2 sacks.
After a lot of hand-wringing and gnashing of teeth, LSU has added a few offensive linemen, although there are probably two you’ve never heard of. Tigers added Jia Quansa from central North Carolina and Jacolby Jones from Copiah Lincoln Community College.
During their college careers, Sprinkle played in 27 games and Jones played in 19 games. Both players have two years of eligibility remaining. Sprinkle, 6-foot-3, 295 pounds, was a second-team MEAC selection this season; Jones, 6-foot-5, 295 pounds from Money, Louisiana.

January 9
If Thursday was focused on the line of scrimmage, Friday was focused on the skill positions with some added defense.
The day starts with LSU adding former five-star defensive end Jordan Ross. The former Tennessee Volunteer was an SEC All-Freshman selection in 2024 and finished with 23 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 2025.
LSU subsequently signed several wide receivers: one from nearby and one from far away. First LSU heads to Illinois for grabs Malik Elzithen they traveled to Lake Charles to introduce McNeese State University Josh Jackson.
Elzy wasn’t used heavily at Illinois, where he caught 16 passes in three seasons. He exited the program in September to retain his redshirt and will have two seasons of eligibility.

Jackson, a native of New Orleans, is preparing for St. Augustus University. He began his college career at UAB before returning home to Louisiana. This year, Jackson has combined with McNeese to catch 20 passes for 258 yards. Elzie and Jackson now give LSU six receivers added through the portal. Now who will actually throw the ball to them this upcoming season? Well, we’re still waiting for answers. Lane Kiffin is now in Knoxville trying to win back Sam Leavitt’s good graces. We’ll see how it goes.
LSU also added defensive back Treylan James from Southern University. James, who is 6-foot-3, 190 inches tall, had 39 tackles, three TFLs and six PBUs last season.
