LAS VEGAS (KUALA LUMPUR) – Another person has come forward to say they were stung by a scorpion while staying at a hotel in Las Vegas over the Christmas holidays.

Linda Culler chose to stay at the Silver Sevens Hotel and Casino because of its convenient location, less than 10 minutes from Harry Reid International Airport.

Her flight was scheduled to leave at 6am on Monday, December 29. To avoid missing her flight, she drove from her home in Pahrump and checked in at Silver Sevens on Sunday.

“The prices are affordable. It’s easy to book online,” Kahler said.

She woke up one night to start getting ready when she felt a twinge.

“I stood up in my bare feet and walked around the bed and stepped on the scorpion. I knew right away, it was right at my feet and um… oh my gosh,” Kahler said.

The incident set off a chain reaction. While on the plane, her feet began to swell and she developed a fever. When she arrived in Montana, her hospital visit cost $466.

“I just don’t think it’s right. They don’t have to be held accountable,” Kahler said.

Kahler contacted 8 News Now following reports on Monday that a Los Angeles man was stung by a scorpion while staying at the Silver Seven.

His roommate captured video of the scorpion.

The scorpion is believed to be a bark scorpion, and the National Park Service calls it the most venomous scorpion in North America.

Attorney Brian Virag of “MyBedBugLawyer” represented the California man and said Silver Sevens had an obligation to ensure the safety of its guests.

“It doesn’t matter how much money you spend on a hotel room or lodging. It has to be safe,” Virag said.

Kahler said the hotel didn’t charge her for the room, but she still had to pay resort fees. After being stung, she was unable to walk on her right foot for two days.

“I think they should be shut down and put to an end because from what I understand, there are infections now,” Kahler said.

Linda Kaler hopes Silver Seven will at least cover her hospital bills from a scorpion bite.

8 News Now made multiple attempts to seek comment from the Silver Sevens Hotel and Casino about the two scorpion incidents but received no reply.

Attorney Brian Virag also represented a guest who was stung in the testicles by a scorpion at the Venetian Palace Tower during Christmas 2023. Virag said the case has not yet been resolved.
