Anderson and Baleba: Man United plot sensational £200m midfield revolution

Assembling a world-class midfield remains Manchester United’s top priority this summer.

Need quality supplement

Christian Eriksen left last summer and was never replaced. Now, Casemiro is also expected to leave. Manuel Ugarte wanted to take his place, but he has struggled to convince others.

There is little need to explain why United must focus fully on their midfield, injecting the quality needed to lay the foundations for the dominance that Old Trafford fans crave.

Linked names and emerging favorites

Several midfielders have been linked with moves to the M16: Carlos Baleba, Elliot Anderson, Sandro Tonali, Scott McTominay, Adam Walton, Eduardo Camavinga and Angelo Steeler. However, according to Teamtalk , United are interested in a double attack.

British media revealed:

“As things stand, their favorite targets are Elliot Anderson and Carlos Baleba. But they will have to spend around £200m to sign the Premier League duo.”

Baleba and Anderson could indeed be excellent additions to this United side.

Unfortunately, a move for Baleba failed to materialize last summer. His decline in form since then has been disappointing, but form is temporary and class is permanent.

The Cameroon international remains the “midfield beast” that Ineos admired last year. A change of scenery, particularly a move to Manchester, may well have helped him rediscover his spark.

Anderson: Manchester United needs Warriors

As for Anderson, he is arguably the best young midfielder in the Premier League right now.

United need the warrior he represents, someone who takes the ball like he’s angry about it, direct, brave and never hides in a game. He could be the perfect successor to Casemiro. His energy and winning ability will ensure United don’t miss out on the Samba star.

Anderson’s Battle

If United and Brighton can reach an agreement, a deal for Baleba should be simple, but Anderson’s situation is trickier.

The Nottingham Forest man is also a key target for Manchester City, who are prepared to spend big to secure his services. Ineos must find a way to win this game. If they succeed, Baleba and Anderson’s partnership will form the backbone of United’s midfield for years to come.
