All post office locations to close, mail won’t be delivered

Valentine’s Day isn’t the only holiday this month.

The United States Postal Service issued an announcement stating that Presidents’ Day will be celebrated on Monday, February 16th. All post office locations will be closed.

Regular mail delivery and retail services will resume on Tuesday, February 17.

Customers are reminded that when post offices are closed, they can still access many postal products and services through usps.com and at self-service kiosks in select halls nationwide. Many self-service kiosks are available 24/7 and offer the following features:

  • Postage printing for Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express and international shipping

  • Ability to weigh and mail packages

  • Package tracking information

Other locations may include:

  • Quick delivery station for customers who have created and printed labels online

  • Customers can choose to print shipping labels through the QR code provided by the merchant

  • USPS Smart Locker Allow customers to drop off and pick up packages.

Presidents’ Day is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the presidents of the United States, specifically George Washington, as the holiday begins on February 22 as George Washington’s birthday. Today, the holiday broadly honors past and present U.S. presidents.

The festival is known for large retail sales, especially on items such as cars, furniture and mattresses.
