Alabama women’s basketball climbs to No. 21 in latest AP Poll

Following last week’s blowout win over Kentucky, the Alabama Crimson Tide are officially ranked No. 21 in the nation, according to this week’s AP Top 25 Women’s Basketball Poll.

The Tide are off to a 16-1 start with their only loss coming to the South Carolina Gamecocks on Jan. 1. Alabama is coming off two huge wins against Arkansas and top-10 Kentucky, and the Tide has proven to hold its own among the best teams in all of women’s basketball. Star guard Jessica Timmons was elite in the win over the Wildcats, scoring an impressive 24 points on 8-for-16 shooting and grabbing four rebounds.

The Tide are currently 2-1 after their first three games in the SEC. Timmons continues to draw attention as the season progresses, with the star sharpshooter currently leading the team with 15.4 points per game. Timmons and the rest of the Tide will be looking to smooth things over throughout SEC play as Alabama officially finds itself ranked No. 21, according to the AP Poll.

Timmons and Alabama will continue their hot streak in 2026 as the Tide take on the Missouri Tigers tonight at 6 pm central time.
