Alabama assistant, former player to reportedly join ACC program

Alabama Crimson Tide assistant defensive line coach Jamie Mosley is expected to be named the Stanford Cardinals’ new defensive line coach, ESPN reporter Pete Thame reported.

Mosley is a former Alabama linebacker who spent the past few seasons in Tuscaloosa after his playing career ended.

Mosley played five seasons with the Crimson Tide from 2014-18, where the linebacker totaled 21 tackles, 4.5 TFL, two sacks and two passes defended. A two-time national champion in 2015 and 2017, Mosley also went undrafted in 2019 after retiring from Alabama and had never played in an NFL game before beginning his coaching career.

Alabama’s coaching staff also saw a number of 2025 assistant coaches leave the program this offseason to take different jobs elsewhere as Mosley joins former wide receivers coach JaMarcus Shepard and quarterbacks coach Nick Sheridan. Shepard is now the head coach at Oregon State and Sheridan is the offensive coordinator at Michigan State.
