The New York Jets are currently 3-13, but looking at the way things are going in December, it seems unlikely that this team will win three games.

Although things are much different, things are going badly this month due to some trades and changes at quarterback. The loss to the New England Patriots capped off a forgettable month for Aaron Glenn and the Jets.
But unfortunately for the Jets, December may go down in NFL history. ESPN’s Rich Cimini revealed that the Jets’ point differential from December 0 to April was -107, the team’s worst December in NFL history.
The Jets just had their worst December in NFL history
“Where does this month rank in the history of bad Decembers?” Cimini wrote. “This is arguably the worst ever. The Jets fell to 0-4 and had the worst point differential in NFL history (-107) in December, according to ESPN research.”

Those two statistics sum up the Jets’ December. They didn’t win a game and lost by an average of 26.75 points. According to Cimini, they are the first team in the Super Bowl era to lose four consecutive games by at least 23 points.
Brady Cook and the Jets offense scored just three offensive touchdowns in December. The Jets have lost more games this month than by offensive touchdowns.
The four losses were a 10-34 loss to the Miami Dolphins, a 20-48 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, a 6-29 loss to the New Orleans Saints and a 10-42 loss to the Patriots in Week 17.

It’s been a bad month, to say the least. To make matters worse, the Jets will not have the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, as their Week 13 win over the Atlanta Falcons combined with their win earlier this year gives the Jets just a 0.1 percent chance of landing the No. 1 pick.
Glenn’s first season in New York was a complete disaster, with the offense, defense, and even the special teams performing well below expectations.
Entering the final week of the 2025 season, the Jets will be trying to put a positive result against the Buffalo Bills after a tough loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Fortunately, that game won’t be held in December. The worst December in NFL history is behind us, with Glenn’s Jets making brutal history during a time of year that should be filled with holiday cheer. Jets fans don’t have much to cheer about this month.
