A 27-acre private island in Fiji with a furnished villa and a bridge to the mainland will go up for auction on December 19, according to the seller.
According to Mansion Global, Vavi Island is one of the few freehold islands in the Fiji Islands, meaning whoever wins the auction will have full ownership. Most of Fiji’s islands are leased.

The island was previously listed for $20 million and was a short-term luxury rental resort. Buyers can open it to the public or keep it as a private retreat.
“Have a master plan for any future options,” real estate agent Chester Rendell told Mansion Global. “The choice is yours.”
Island overview
According to the seller, the specialty villa is located in the center of Vavi Island and is a fully furnished residence with 3,000 square feet and three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The villa overlooks the Koro Sea and features a horizon pool and wet-edge spa.

Additional features include a daybed pavilion, barbecue pavilion, three-car garage and stone-paved covered walkway, the seller said. The master suite and guest bedroom have direct access to the pool and other outdoor spaces.
If the auction winner decides to turn the island into an investment property, 19 parcels of beachfront land, ranging in size from half an acre to a full acre, could be developed. Other amenities on the island include a manager’s house, guest pool and bar, full-size tennis court and private dock.
Vavi Island is connected to Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second largest island, by a bridge about a quarter-mile long. Vanua Levu has an airport and a number of restaurants, and is an hour’s flight from Nadi, where Fiji International Airport is located.
