The 22-year-old opened the scoring with a sublime, deft finish and then worked his way through the ball on the counter-attack to set up Findlay Curtis for a much-needed second.
“Marley hit a great ball [Watkins],” Hugill told BBC Scotland of his goals.
“He was obviously working in behind and then looked up to get me, which was great. I also made good contact with the ball, so it was a great goal.”
The former Manchester United youth player added: “I love it here. I settled in very quickly – the manager Doddsey and all the lads are with me.”

“I think this is a good team and I think we showed that on the field as well.
“It all comes from the head coach and the coaching staff who obviously trust us to play the way we want to play and then it’s up to us to execute the plan.
“Today was a huge win and I enjoyed it.”
