Arne Slott sets timetable for Alexander Isak return to Liverpool
Liverpool boss Arne Slott has made it clear when Alexander Isak could return to action, with the Champions League quarter-final tie against Paris Saint-Germain considered a realistic return point. The Swedish forward has been out for three months after suffering a broken leg during the 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in December.

Isaac, signed for £125m, has only recently returned to light training and is still in the final stages of his recovery. Liverpool fans eager to see him return in red may need to temper their expectations, as Slott made it clear that the intensity of the game will take time.

Slott was candid when discussing Isaac’s preparation and what fans should expect in the short term.
“Alex will be available [for PSG]Yes,” Slott confirmed. “The question is what do you mean by ‘ready’.

“If you want to have the players who played us in the Carabao Cup final a year ago and it was so good for us that day, then I will tell you that after being out for seven or eight months, I doubt it.

“But I hope I can use him for a few minutes. I can’t tell you the specific results because he hasn’t even trained once with the team.”
The Liverpool boss stressed that Isaac has not yet returned to full-team training at the AXA Training Centre, underlining the cautious approach being taken.
Rehabilitation Progress and Careful Integration
Liverpool are considering options to bolster Isak’s fitness, including potential games behind closed doors. However, Slaughter stressed that a gradual return remains crucial.
“He’s still not able to train with the team, he’s not able to train with the team and usually the rehab is before you start training with the team and then you play games. After a training session you don’t play 45 minutes or 90 minutes.”

The striker will not feature for Sweden during the international break, a decision that reflects Liverpool’s internal priorities in managing his recovery.
Liverpool forward’s long-term prospects
While enthusiasm for Alexander Isak continues to grow, Slott points out that Liverpool will see him at his peak next season.
“It’s 100 per cent certain that fans will see the best of him next season and we’re working hard to make sure that we see him at his best or close to his best this season.
“I’m as excited as the fans to have him back because I think it’s fair to say that 90 per cent of our games, we have more chances than other teams, so if we have one of the best forwards in the world playing for you, that usually means you’re going to score more points.”
Liverpool remain optimistic that Isaac, even if his minutes are limited, could play a decisive role in the final months of the season, particularly in Europe.
