Jon Jones requests his UFC release in scathing response to Dana White: ‘No more spins, no more games’

Jon Jones has officially ended his “rivalry” with UFC CEO Dana White. Jones, a former two-division champion and widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters in UFC history, publicly called for his disqualification from the promotion in a lengthy post on social media on Monday after White made dismissive comments about Jones being excluded from the UFC White House event on June 14.

Jones said:

Hi everyone, I want to address Dana White’s comments from last weekend because the truth is important to me and the fans. Dana, you’re angry about why I’m not on the White House list, but let’s clear something up. My team and I are actually in talks with the UFC about that fight. Real negotiation. I even came down from my old number, what did I get in return? I’m underestimated.

Yes, I have arthritis in my hips and it’s painful, but that doesn’t mean I can’t fight.

So let me get this straight, if I accept the lowball offer, all of a sudden my hip is going to heal and I’m going to be on the White House card? This doesn’t make sense.

I even had a stem cell treatment last week in preparation for the White House card, and training camp is scheduled to start today. I’m getting ready.

I know business deals sometimes fail, but it’s never okay to publicly say things that are untrue.

After everything I gave to the UFC, all the years, the defenses, the fights, it’s disappointing to hear that I’m “done.” Especially since just Friday the UFC called me and tried to get me the White House card at a much lower price.
